Squash Blossom


Squash Blossom will be taught all day Friday by Kathy Retzer. 

This quilt combines an easy block with a wide pieced sashing.  When the blocks and pieced sashing are sewn together, a secondary design appears.  Navajo Squash Blossom necklaces inspired the block. The crescent shape is said to bring good luck.

Nosegay quilt


Nosegay quilt will be taught all day Friday by Saundra Cindrich. 

This is a lovely classic pattern adapted for today’s easier methods, ie. NO set in seams! The Nosegay block is perfect for bright modern colors or would be equally classy in a more traditional palette. Any skill level for this class!

Stained Glass




Stained Glass will be taught Thursday evening by Wendy Liddle.

Have you ever taken a class and not finished the project and it was added to your PHD-P's? (projects half done -pile). Well, this is a class where you will finish it and take it home- Done! I taught this last year and the ladies loved it, so I am offering it again. If you can cut, glue, and iron you are in!

Autumn's Apron


Autumn's Apron will be taught by Brenda Bailey on Thursday evening. 

Many quilters are afraid to use bias, because they don't know how to cut it or stitch it on. This apron is a good project to learn and practice those very things.

You will not only learn this technique, but will end up with this darling apron for yourself, or to give as a gift.

Caliente


Caliente will be taught Thursday evening by Krisanne Watkins. 

Caliente is packed with numerous techniques to add to your quiltmaking skills.  It is a gorgeous block, set on point, that includes four patches, square in a square, and half square triangle techniques.  The inner border echoes repeats some of the lessons from the blocks, but really adds zing to an interesting quilt center.  It is completely template free, rotary cut for speedy construction.

Owl Always Love You will be taught on Thursday evening by Deonn Stott. 

This adorable appliqué lap quilt will keep watch by day or night. We’ll explore several raw-edge machine-appliqué techniques, then sew it together in a breeze!  Design your own skyline silhouette or choose one of the options in the pattern (Mt. Timpanogos, Tetons, New York City, Tuacahn cliffs).

Doing the twist is so much fun and this great quilt comes together in a jiffy!  The quilt features two rows of pinwheels made with the Twister Tool and all the great fabric that you just can't bear to cut.

Campers will be taught Thursday afternoon/evening (2:00-9:00) by Meredith Harris. 

Amy Bradly is so creative with her fun loving quilts.  We all love camping with our families and the outdoors.  This quilt brings back those camping memories we all love to reminisce about.  Pattern is shown in multiple colors or Red, White and Blue.  Mix or match to customize your favorites.  Amy’s design includes the full size pattern, placement sheets and instructions to make a 40”x54” quilt.  Also a “Welcome” wall hanging 18”x 18 ½” and a customized family wall hanging, (size will vary).  I want to show you how easy the silhouette Cameo cutting machine can make creating this quilt a breeze.  If you don’t own a Cameo still come and see how well this machine works and you will certainly want your own.   Designs can be cut with any cutting machine. (I prefer the Silhouette Cameo) or cut out by hand with your favorite applique method or Amy is now offering Laser cut kits, online.

Come sail away with all your scraps and we'll navigate together how to piece this sailboat quilt. We will piece together an 18 X 20 sailboat block and the little block inside one of the sails. This is a real fun quilt to add a nautical look to any room.

This bag is much more than a gym bag! It’s great for the beach, knitting, quilting, and carry-on for trips. Adorable for “going to Grandma’s house”, holds weekend clothes, tablets, and chargers. There are pockets on the front, back and both ends.

Kickin' It Up



Kickin' It Up will be taught all day Thursday by Tracy Larson.

Y'all take off those cowboy hats and boots and get ready for a good ole time. In this class we will be teaching you a fun new way to embroider using Mylar. Mylar will give your embroidery a look that you have not seen before. It adds a beautiful contrast to the color of your threads. When you see these fancy embroidered boots on your new quilt, y'all will want to kick up your skirts and start dancing.

Brilliant Union


Brilliant Union will be taught Thursday afternoon by Bonnie Bailey. 

The British are coming!  The British are coming!  Anyone noticed how the Union Jack (Britain's flag) has become very popular recently?  Well, this quilt looks like it has lots of small pieces, but no!  It is made from two panels and some sashing fabric.  I will have kits available with different color options so that you can show your true colors in true British style!  I will also show you some other things that you can do with the panels.

Stairway to the Stars will be taught Thursday morning by Sandy Varley. 

Strips and squares and a few half square triangles are all you need to make this scrappy but stunning quilt. Choose a monochromatic colorway like mine for a clean, elegant look, or make it crazy and colorful. You will love it either way. This is a great quilt for a beginner.

Lori Holt's Farm Girl Vintage Book is the hottest thing out there.  Let's create the Farmhouse Lane Quilt from this book.  Finished Quilt size is 66 1/2" X 70 1/2". There are 3 blocks to this quilt. This is a great scrap buster and will turn out to be a family heirloom.

If You’re Ever in a Bind


If You’re Ever in a Bind will be taught by Emily Bailey on Thursday morning. 

Do you get stuck when it comes to binding your quilt?  Do those almost finished tops pile up?  Come learn tricks to make this last step a breeze.  We will learn how to make bias binding, scrappy binding, how to join it all up so there are no gathers or tucks and how to do it all by machine.

Book of Mormon Stories


Book of Mormon Stories will be taught Thursday morning by Lynette Bingham. 

This 68” x 86” quilt can be made with either needle-turn appliqué, machine appliqué, or wool appliqué. The sample was made using the Woolie Flannels as background and borders, with wool appliqué. The embroidered words are done with perle cotton. What a great way to share the Book of Mormon!

Zircon Crystals



Zircon Crystals will be taught Thursday morning by Deonn Stott. 

Based on the antique “Shoemaker’s Puzzle” quilt from the 1840’s, this dynamic design creates dimension and movement using simple straight-seam construction and a contrast in value. Class will include Deonn’s “Practically Perfect Paper-Piecing” primer, and more tips to produce those pretty points. Use two colors or make it scrappy!

Quarter Sewn will be taught Thursday morning by Bonnie Bailey. 

Quarter Sewn is a delightfully versatile raw-edge applique quilt.  The quarter circles are easy to piece and the block layout options are endless.  The finished size is perfect for a twin-sized bed or a large throw for your living area.  Come prepared and we should be able to get all the blocks finished in class!

Garden Wall


Garden Wall will be taught all day on Thursday by Josephine Keasler.

The foundation papers used to create Garden Wall have been extremely popular design elements over the years. The instructions for this quilt are based on a technique using 2-1/2” pre-cut strips. Traditional piecing skills are required to join the units after the foundation piecing is completed. Applique skills (either the turned-under option or the use of laser-cut fusible applique) are necessary to create the flowers.

Modern Logs will be taught by Christa Watson all day on Thursday. 

Put a modern spin on the classic Log Cabin block while you learn to create “structured improv” blocks. Embrace improvisation and have fun creating a graphic, modern quilt that looks great in any fabrics. Choose two sets of fabrics that have good contrast, such as solids and prints. Great for fat quarters or scraps!

Let’s have fun with this New Pattern from Sew Kind of Wonderful. They have taken a very complicated traditional Pattern and simplified it to come out quickly using there Quick curve method.

Space Crystals


Space Crystals will be taught by Marie Haws all day Thursday. 

This is a truly amazing wall hanging that will keep everyone looking and intrigued by the strong 3-D design.  The trick to this quilt is placing the right values to define each crystal form.  This project is pieced without Y-seams, and, although challenging, is easier than you might think.

Chanticleer & Company



Chanticleer & Company will be taught all day Thursday by Louise Harris. 

This is one of the funnest quilts you will ever make!!! The chickens take on character as you put fabrics together and applique them. Because I wanted a bright and happy quilt, I used brighter fabrics.  You can also use more muted red and yellow colors for your quilt.  I used chicken wire fabric for my background but you can use white on white or cream on cream.  Just have fun choosing your fabrics and come have fun creating "your" chickens.

Feathered Star


Feathered Star will be taught all day Thursday (8:30-5) by Saundra Cindrich. 

An old favorite made easy with foundation paper piecing. Yes! This beautiful block is created with paper piecing. No more cutting tiny triangles and trying to hold them together and sew them into perfect squares. Paper piecing takes the oops! out of sewing together really small units. If you are interested in the best techniques for paper piecing then this class is for you! I’m showing a star made of bright Kaffe Fassett fabrics but any color combinations will work. It is a lovely Christmas or patriotic block!

Split Log Cabin will be taught by Josephine Keasler on Wednesday from 2-5. 

Redefining the way we make log cabin quilts, this pattern is the first in a very long line of paper pieced log cabins by Quiltworx. You might ask: “Why paper piece a log cabin pattern?” The answers are: speed cutting, speed piecing, and unbelievable accuracy.

Those Who Wander


Those Who Wander will be taught Wednesday from 2-5 by Sariah Mortensen. 

This quilt is a creative version of a drunkards path block. It's important to have good contrast in your strips. You will need half dark and half light. A few mediums can be scattered in, but in general the pattern emerges better if the distinction between light and dark is obvious. Don't be afraid of the curved piecing. I promise you can do it!
